LAGOON PARK

Public BBQ

Lagoon Park surprised me with its thoughtful design for families. The modern playground features a proper zip line and climbing tower that had kids queuing up repeatedly, while the open grassland beside it proved perfect for impromptu footy matches. What impressed me most was the practical setup - clean toilets positioned conveniently close, well-maintained barbecue facilities, and covered seating areas that provided respite from the Queensland sun. The park strikes an unusual balance of being secluded enough to escape road noise yet accessible with roadside parking. Though compact, it punches above its weight with wheelchair accessibility and separate areas for different age groups. The Saturday morning Park Run adds community spirit, and the surrounding bushland creates a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere. Just remember your hat - the playground lacks shade.
